Portugese lorry driver returns to work with prosthetic leg

A prosthetic leg (was) fitted which looks exactly like a normal leg

A prosthetic leg, a specially adapted lorry and a £370,000 settlement secured by Osbornes put Mr X back on the road to recovery

Mr X was a passenger in a lorry on the M3. The lorry was owned by a Spanish company and both the client and the driver were Portugese.

As a result of the driver's careless driving the client was badly hurt and ended up having to have one of his legs amputated above the knee.

Fortunately the client was able to return to work as his Spanish employers specially adapted a lorry for his use.

Mr X’s solicitor Wendy Wright was able to identify the insurance company who would deal with the claim in the UK and negotiations then ensued as to the value of the claim.

A prosthetics specialist was found who was able to arrange for our client to have a prosthetic leg fitted which looks exactly like a normal leg, a spare one and a specially adapted prosthetic leg so that Mr X could still pursue water sports.

The cost of these specialist prosthetic legs was factored into the terms of settlement and the client ultimately received a total of £370,000.
